This statement means that it is better to be with people of good qualities for your good or better to be alone and not be in bad company. Nowadays there are many who for the sake of the easier things take the wrong road that then leads them to repentance and realize that they were the people who gave him bad company, so it is better to be good accompanied by good people with good qualities. Be careful who you hang out with because they can be a bad influence on you. For example, you don't want to hang out with people that all they do is drugs. Hang out with the people of good quality and that actually care about you.
