10 Indian Commandments

10 Indian Commandments

I think that the 10 indian commandments are all about choosing the right. They also show how to treat others with respect.

Many people might choose to take it without thinking twice. But, if these are some of the commandments we live by, we might not feel so right about taking it. Another example on why living by these commandments would be good is because we wouldn't be polluting the world so much. Many people care about the Earth and want to help fight against pollution. But, we live in a time of age where pollution isn't something we could stop so easily. There are many factories that pollute a lot to give us things we want like cars and phones and electricity. But, if we lived by these rules we would be more focused on finding clean ways on how to make electricity.

A promise

“A promise must never be broken” - Alexander Hamilton

I think that this statement means that every promise that you make should never be broken. When you say that you are going to say something you must do it. When you say that you're going to do something, whether or not you said promise, it’s still a promise. When you break a promise, you are breaking your word. You will feel disappointed if a friend was to break a promise so you shouldn’t break your promises either. An example of this can be when your friend promises that they will not spread your secret. If they were to break their promise and tell everyone about it, you will definitely be disappointed in your friend. If you don’t like it when people break promises they make with you then you should also keep your promises and be loyal to your word.

Goodness

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails” - Henry David Thoreau

This statement means that you will never fail if you invest in goodness. An example of this is that if you are a kind person in school, you will never fail because it is the good thing to do. Don’t expect anything so you never feel bad. Instead, you feel good because you did something good and you helped someone or did something good. For example, help a friend who is in need, even when they do not ask you too much. Do not expect anything, but you will always be grateful. They can even help you when you are in need. It's like karma. You do something good, something good will come to you.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d3/Henry_David_Thoreau_-_Dunshee_ambrotpe_1861.jpg

Right decision

“My basic principle is that you don’t make decisions because they’re easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make them because they’re popular; you make them because they’re right.” - Theodore Hesburgh

I think that this statement means that when you make a decision, you should pick the one that’s right. You should never pick the one that is wrong. This quote said by the former president of Notre Dame in truthful in the sense on how we should make our decisions. Nowadays everyone is just doing what their friends are doing, regardless if it's right or wrong. This is never the right way to make a choice. We should always make our decisions based on what is right. An example of this can be when your friends are doing something bad and invite you to join in. You should make the right choice and not follow in their path. Another thing the quote is stating is that we should not make choices based on what everyone else is choosing. We should make the right choice 100% of the time because at the end of the day, that bad decision you make will come back to get you

Sound & Good

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound” (not good) - Joseph Smith

I think that this statement means that we need to make everything that spreads good messages more popular. However, everything that is bad and spreads hatred need to be unpopular. The statement explains that we should tell others or try to influence them to do the right thing. Let people know, especially children what is right and wrong to do. It also should not be popular to make drugs. It should not be popular to leave school and not listen to your parents. Just as if a celebrity had to behave in an inappropriate way that makes it look like it was great to behave that way. People should send a positive message to children and adolescents who idolize them. It should be popular to be kind, respectful, trustworthy and responsible. The things that are right should be popular not the wrong things. Even teens should tell their friends that it is not cool not to do their homework. We must make them to be a popular and cool CTR person in their place for their own good. If you are a CTR person you should teach them your steps and follow you to be a CTR person.

Be True

Be True
“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.” - Abraham Lincoln

I think that this statement means that you should always side with the person who always chooses the right. Surround yourself with positive people and part ways with the people that do things that do wrong. This clarification means that you must be with the people who always support you. They are with you because in reality you are one like them. Those are the people who are always with you or rather they are people who help you, because they understand. The statement also says that not only is winning but also doing the right thing to receive with honor the success of what you did.

Character

“Character is higher than intellect.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

This statement means that having good character is better than having intellect. This is so important because most people know that character matters a lot when it needs its presence. For example when you are doing something and you get angry or do things that other people then see that your character is not correct, that is wrong because you always have to have good character to solve things or simply let go of that courage. Having good character matters a lot because sometimes you get things faster or you do things right.

Hard work

“I trust that my hard work will pay off“ - Tyler Haws

This statement means that when you work hard good things will happen for you. An example of Tyler is good, because he proposed to work hard with his dad and managed to be in a college basketball team. That's good because you realize that when you want you can do it. I am following the example of Tyler because I am also practicing hard with my dad and to be successful in my future and someday thank him to my parents. I want to be the best player I can be and in order to think like that, you have to work very hard.
