PHYSICAL FITNESS

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”- President John F. Kennedy

I think this statement means that when you’re body is healthy and strong, your intelligence and skill tend to function better. Physical fitness is not only good for the body but also for the brain. JFK is saying that exercise is the best way to function creative intellectual at its peak. This is why there is so many benefits to physically staying active. When your body is healthy and strong, so is your brain. To be really smart and skillful at something, you need to be physically active.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness”-Joseph B. Wirthlin

I think that this means that if you are being kind than you are being great. I don’t fully agree with this statement because you can be an amazing basketball player but have a bad attitude. You can be great at your job but be a bossy person. I think that this statement should be changed to Practice is the essence of greatness. While I don’t really agree with this statement, I still think kindness does have a small part to being great.

Thanksgiving week

Thanksgiving Week
During Thanksgiving week, I mostly hung out with my family and went shopping. At the start of the week, my family and I had to move some stuff around the house because someone was going to paint our house. The next day, we went to the market to buy turkey and other foods for Thanksgiving. During Thanksgiving day, I watched the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Washington Redskins and go to 10-1. For Thanksgiving, my family and I ate turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The next day for Black Friday, my family and I went shopping at the mall and I bought clothes on sale. I also worked on homework for my classes.

“If it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true do not say it;- Marcus Aurelius

I think this statement means that if you do or say something that isn’t right or true, that is not good. If you feel like hurting someone, than don’t do it. If you feel like spreading a rumor of someone that is not true, don’t say it. Your actions reflect who you are as a person. Don’t ruin your reputation by saying and doing things that are not nice. If you do that then you are only hurting yourself. You should first think about how the other person is going to feel before you do it.

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving day is celebrated in Canada and the United States. It is celebrated by giving thanks and eating a big feast with the main course being turkey. It originated in Plymouth, where the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag indians shared a feast.

“ Honesty is the best policy”

“ Honesty is the best policy”
Mark Twain
This is one quote that many of you have heard many times. This quote refers to being honest and how to have an honest character. A policy is some sort of rule that you must follow. This quote is saying that honesty is always the best rule to follow. To be honest to everyone around you so that they can see the good type of person you are.  To be honest to your parents, friends, teachers, people you meet.  For example if you break something  and they ask you if you did it then you must stand up and say the truth even though there will be consequences at least you were honest. Being honest can be rewarding and can get you to places and can get you to meet new people. Being honest can not only help yourself  but can help others to.

3 magic keys of integrity

“These are the 3 magic keys to living your life with integrity:
  1. Have the courage to say no.
  2. Have the courage to face the truth.
  3. Do the right thing because it is right.”- W. Clement Stone

I think this statement means that if you want to live a life with integrity, you need to follow the 3 magic keys to living a life with integrity.  If someone says something that you don’t agree with, you need to have the courage to say no. You need to stand up for what’s right. You also need to have the courage to face the truth. Finally, you need to do the right thing because it is right. Do whatever you think is right and not what somebody else thinks.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Proverbs 13:20
I think that this statement means that if you walk with wise men then you yourself are going to be wise. But if you are hanging out with a companion of fools, you should be destroyed. Choose your friends wisely and don’t hang around with a bunch of fools. For example, don’t hang around with people who smoke or drink all day. You should choose friends who will help you and who are wise. This proverb tells us that the way you act is influenced by the people you hang out with. Be very aware of who that person is before calling them a friend. This proverb also tells us that if you walk with wise men then you shall be wise and be a CTR person. When you do this, other people will follow. Eventually everyone will be wise.
