Last Lecture

“You will go far with CTR” - Mr Haymore

I believe that this statement means that you will reach the peak with CTR. If you always choose the right you will go far and strive for greatness. However, if you choose the CTW path you will be unsuccessful in life. To be on the CTR path, you need to have good character and be a positive person 24/7. An example is that if you see someone dropped their wallet, you should give it back to them. Always be respectful of others and always be humble. You will be successful with CTR

Class Evaluation

Class Evaluation

The things I liked about this class was that everything was on the computers and not on paper other than the life planning goals journal. I also liked the lectures about how to be a CTR person and the videos we would watch. The last thing I liked about this class is that it helped me learned to type faster.

Some things I didn’t like about this class were that some times it got a little boring and I didn’t like that we got randomly called on to share our thoughts on a certain topic.

Some recommendations are to make the class more fun so that students wouldn’t fall asleep and
always give free time at the end of class.

A highlight for me was when we did the CTR project because it was a bit nerve-racking but was fun.

I feel like I did do my best in this class because I always brought my goals journal and I tried my best to complete my assignments. I also paid attention during the lectures and did my work.

I always try my best to read and write my goals especially when I am in this class.

I am going to try my hardest to be a CTR person because I think there are too many cruel people in this world and we need more people to step up and Choose The Right.

Memorial day

Memorial Day weekend

During the three day weekend, my family and I traveled to many places including the mall and other stores. On Memorial Day, my family and I actually had a barbecue and invited many friends. We also played mini games and had a lot of fun.

Do right

“Dare to do right” - Rex D. Pinegar

This statement means that you should only be dared to do right. If you get dared to do something wrong, you shouldn’t do it. You must take on that dare because it's a dare that makes you choose the right. If someone dares you to jump off a cliff, you shouldn’t do it.  You should not do it because you are not being courageous if you jump off that cliff you are being reckless. You are just putting your life in danger. If you say no to the dare you are being brave than actually accepting the dare because you are saying no to people and being at risk of being fun off. You should only dare to do right.Image result for rex d pinegar

SSS

“If I’ve got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I’m going to succeed” - Dan Dierdorf

The statement explains that if you have goals and do everything you can to achieve your goals by choosing the right one, then all the good that is supposed to happen will happen. Your goals should be the right goals like going to college. Don’t choose the wrong and try drugs. You also have to try your best to complete your goals. For example, if your goal is to go to college then you should get good grades. You should not have your goal of going to college and then be failing each class. Doing the right thing means you're going to be successful. It does not mean that you will be very rich, it means you will succeed in being a good person. You also have to act like a CTR person and pursue your goals no matter what.

Four Success tips

Phillip Riggs’ Four Success Tips
  1. Work Hard
  2. Follow your passions. Do things you are interested in doing
  3. Don’t chase after money.
  4. Serve others. Do good things for others, and good things will come to you.

I think that these success tips mean that you need to work hard and make sacrifices to be successful. His tips can be easily followed and easily learned. The first one is just to work hard, which we could all do if we are not lazy. The second tip is to do something you are interested in. This can be a passion you have. The third tip is to not just do something for money. The fourth and final tip that Phillips Riggs gave us was to treat others the way you would want to be treated. When you do good things, good things will happen to you. These steps also are related to choosing the right.

The right thing

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.” - Theodore Roosevelt

I believe that this statement means that when it’s time to make a decision, you should choose the right one. For example, a person in front of you may have dropped $ 5 and did not notice. You have two options to not tell them anything and keep the money or tell them you dropped their $ 5 and give them your money. The correct option would be to tell them that they dropped their $ 5 but the wrong choice can be tempting. Maybe it may seem like it's not much money and they can get $ 5 elsewhere, but just because it does not seem like a lot of money so that's not the right choice. Choosing the right is the best choice.

Nothing

“Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.” - Wilford Woodruff

I believe this statement means that you get nothing out of choosing the wrong. The only way you can gain things is by choosing the right. An example is how a european soccer player won a lot of money which he used to buy alcohol which eventually led to his death. Another example is if you steal you may feel guilty because you stole from someone who may need help. And also what you stole is not yours and you do not deserve it. Everything we do has a success later, but it has to be good because if you do it wrong then the reward will be bad too. Whatever you gain brought to you by choosing the right.

Do the right thing at the right time

“It’s A GREAT MOMENT when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time.” - Pam Knox

I think that this statement means that when you know you messed up, you should own up to your mistakes. For example, when you see someone drop their wallet. You must choose the right and be the one to return to them their wallet. You should follow Pam's advice and do the right thing at the right time. It doesn’t matter what you lose when you do the right thing because, you will become a better character, which is more important than anything. That is the most important goal in life.

Word of honor

“I have been asked what I mean by ‘word of honor’ I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls - walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground - there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.” - Karl G. Maeser

This long statement means that word of honor is about being a man of your word. If you say you’re going to do something, then you are going to do it. This should be something that everyone should do. For example, if you give your word of honor to your group you will do your part, you should do it. Firstly, you said you would and since you did not do your part of your group you will get a lower grade. This applies not only to the school, but also to everyday life. Such as if you make a promise to a friend or family member you should keep it.

A promise

“A promise must never be broken” - Alexander Hamilton

I think that this statement means that every promise that you make should never be broken. When you say that you are going to say something you must do it. When you say that you're going to do something, whether or not you said promise, it’s still a promise. When you break a promise, you are breaking your word. You will feel disappointed if a friend was to break a promise so you shouldn’t break your promises either. An example of this can be when your friend promises that they will not spread your secret. If they were to break their promise and tell everyone about it, you will definitely be disappointed in your friend. If you don’t like it when people break promises they make with you then you should also keep your promises and be loyal to your word.

Goodness

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails” - Henry David Thoreau

This statement means that you will never fail if you invest in goodness. An example of this is that if you are a kind person in school, you will never fail because it is the good thing to do. Don’t expect anything so you never feel bad. Instead, you feel good because you did something good and you helped someone or did something good. For example, help a friend who is in need, even when they do not ask you too much. Do not expect anything, but you will always be grateful. They can even help you when you are in need. It's like karma. You do something good, something good will come to you.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d3/Henry_David_Thoreau_-_Dunshee_ambrotpe_1861.jpg

Sound & Good

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound” (not good) - Joseph Smith

I think that this statement means that we need to make everything that spreads good messages more popular. However, everything that is bad and spreads hatred need to be unpopular. The statement explains that we should tell others or try to influence them to do the right thing. Let people know, especially children what is right and wrong to do. It also should not be popular to make drugs. It should not be popular to leave school and not listen to your parents. Just as if a celebrity had to behave in an inappropriate way that makes it look like it was great to behave that way. People should send a positive message to children and adolescents who idolize them. It should be popular to be kind, respectful, trustworthy and responsible. The things that are right should be popular not the wrong things. Even teens should tell their friends that it is not cool not to do their homework. We must make them to be a popular and cool CTR person in their place for their own good. If you are a CTR person you should teach them your steps and follow you to be a CTR person.

Be True

Be True
“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.” - Abraham Lincoln

I think that this statement means that you should always side with the person who always chooses the right. Surround yourself with positive people and part ways with the people that do things that do wrong. This clarification means that you must be with the people who always support you. They are with you because in reality you are one like them. Those are the people who are always with you or rather they are people who help you, because they understand. The statement also says that not only is winning but also doing the right thing to receive with honor the success of what you did.

The truly good

“They’re only truly great who are truly good” - George Chapman

This statement means that people who are great at something are good people. This quote stated by the poet George Chapman is truthful in the sense that what he is saying is believable. If you are not truly good, then it seems as you are not truly great. First, you have to be good before you can be great. An example of this is when you are playing a sport. First you may be bad at it, but then you will get better and be good, and over time you will become great. This quote can be said for almost every single activity. Practice is what makes you great. But you also have to be a CTR person.

Character Matters Most

“Character Matters Most” - Dale Murphy

Character matters most because whenever we do things we should make a positive and good character. The character of a person matters too much even if the person did it wrong. An example is when a student does his work with a good character the student thinks More and better and it is probable that his work comes out well because he had a good character and concentrated. If his character is very bad in whatever he does he will go wrong and he will feel bad or he will have consequences for his bad character. Your character is what defines you and it will dictate your future.

A right heart

“Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all.” - Benjamin Franklin

I think this statement means that when you have a “right heart” at all times, good things will happen to you. When you are a CTR person, you will be rewarded with great things. This statement means that great beauty and being really strong are great and all but what’s inside is what really matters most. Choosing the wrong will only make bad things happen to you. An example this is that if you decide to do right things like helping out your parents, you have a good heart.

“The best way to predict your future is to create it

“The best way to predict your future is to create it” - Charles Ketterer

I think that this statement means that the best way for you to predict your future is to create it yourself. You have to believe and follow your goals. You should have a notebook with your goals on it and mark the goals you have completed. It will help you keep track of your goals and which ones you have completed. Analyze your goals and realise them step by step. Everyone has to predict their future because you already know that you are going to dedicate and that will make you feel good, but clearly presides all the good that you dear.

“Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly”

“Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly” - Otto Graham, Jr.

I think that this statement means that before you do something, you should decide whether or not it is right or wrong. When you do this, you be in less stressful situations.
This statement means that we must first agree if it is right or wrong before doing what we want, because doing things right gives you success and if it is not right gives you consequences. Explain that you need to remind yourself if you are making the right choice and if you do not make the right choice. Such a beer you have to think about the choice you are making and since it's the wrong choice you have to do it. Every single time you have a choice you have to ask yourself "Am I making the right choice?". It helps you remember to always choose the right. After figuring out if you are making the right choice you either continue doing the right thing or you begin to choose the right one.

Right Is right only when entire

“Right Is right only when entire.”- Victor Hugo

The statement "right is right only when entire," explains that being honest means telling the whole truth without leaving anything. To say that only half of the story is wrong. For example, if you tell your mom that you go to the library to study with a friend, then you and that friend will study for about ten minutes in the library and then go out and hang out with other friends that is already wrong. But you decide to do it anyway and then your mom asks you what you did and everything you say is studied with your friend that you are not doing well. This is incorrect because it is not the whole truth that is considered as a lie. This is also connected with choosing the right thing. You can’t tell half or one third of the truth because then that is considered a lie.
